I just got off the phone with Congressman Deal's local office.

He has a local, public, health care "discussion" meeting scheduled for Wednesday August 12 from 8 to 9:30 at the Walters Auditorium at NE GA Medical Center. Citizens are asked to call ahead to Brittany at 770-532-6206 to let them know you are coming, even though the event is open to the public.

I think it is crucial for those interested in a public option to have an organized presence with well thought out questions and comments ready at this event.

It will be difficult for me to come but not totally out of the question yet. I am trying to arrange my schedule.

Will anyone join me?

Sue

I will not be attending this meeting for two major reasons. One is personal and private. The other is: As I read the description by the sponsoring organization, The Chamber if Commerce, they seem to be precluding discussion. They describe it as a meeting where the attendees will be informed of how Reps. Deal and Gingrey will vote.

It would seem that any visibility that the public option movement will get will be as protesters. That said, I certainly hope there will be many signs and T-Shirts with logos there.

Good luck to all who make the effort.
